University of Portsmouth Streaming Video Server
A new streaming server, entitled UPStream, has been commissioned and will be operational shortly. When that UPstream is active, media will be uploaded to the new server via an easy to use interface.
The interface, and underpinning digital repository software, will allow users to upload and 'tag' digital media so that data on the server is managed efficiently and is searchable by key word or browsing. Storing media in this way will mean that it is easily accessible and can be used by academic and support staff to enhance teaching and learning materials. In addition, it will help us meet legal obligations such as those required by the ERA and CLA licensing authorities.
